From the Library Director

This year the New Hanover County Library has continued to implement its strategic plan focused on creating library experiences that matter for all our library users.

To that end, we've been pursuing five strategic priorities: deliver exceptional services and experiences; provide a welcoming and dynamic destination; make accessible a wealth of resources; foster literacy and technology competency; and exceed community expectations.

Without the generosity of Foundation donors, the Library does not have the resources it needs to transform strategic priorities into measurable achievements. With help from the Foundation during the past year, the Library has been able to digitize historical archives, offer expanded programming to children, enhance circulating collections of multiple categories of media, and increase awareness of the Library as an information center in the community.

As we welcome a new year, we look forward to working with the Library Foundation to deliver even more of the programs, services, and resources that help New HanoverCounty grow and thrive as a community. Together, we can create library experiences that truly matter.
